RSV, one of the many viruses that cause Bronchiolitis, can be really stressful. One of the main things I like to tell parents is that it’s a long illness. It can take weeks to really clear. As a result, it’s important that if you are nervous you know that it’s okay to return to the pediatrician’s office several times to have your baby rechecked. They will address any new issues that arise, watch for weight loss & can give tips for each stage of the illness.
My daughter had RSV when she was a year old. I know it can be worse for younger babies… For us, the worst was the length and adjusting to the “norm” of RSV versus a cold. We monitored our daughter closely like Dr. Connolly suggests and everything turned out fine.
Yes and it’s so stressful! How are things with your baby?
