  1. I believe this to be incorrect. My second daughters name is Elleri and I researched the name when I choosing it and I believe it to mean cheerful. That was what every site besides this one that I have seen said it ment. Word of advice always check more then one site for the meanings I usually check at least 4 bc of this. Lol well if you’re like me have to have a meaningful meaning behind a name. 🙂

It turns out that the name has a few meanings depending on if you use the Old English root or the Latin root. The Old English root means “island with elder trees” while the Latin root means “cheerful.” It’s listed with both meanings in various places, but I thought it was pretty cool.
