Hand Flapping
I am a confused new mom who is concerned about few issues of her 2.5 year old toddler. Firstly, my son tends to flap his hands vigorously when he gets overloaded with excitement. Secondly, he does not point at objects for wanting something. However, he does point with his index finger when asked to direct at something. Please note that, he has 600+ clear vocabularies, few meaningful sentences, good eye contact, good cognition, recognizes emotions, wants to be with people, does pretend play and doesn’t show any routine or repetitive behavior or fixation to any particular objects. Can the behavior I am concerned about be indicative of his being in the spectrum?
