When to evaluate?
My 2 year old (almost 3 in November) has a hard time with the F and V sounds. She also can’t pucker, or blow bubbles, or even kiss a mirror, she appears flat lipped. Many tell me to relax and wait until she’s three, am I over thinking it?
Thanks Cara – you validated what I was thinking! Now…to find a therapist. -

occupational therapy
one of my twins is going in for an occupational therapy evaluation. She has issues with touch and seems to be easily over stimulated (she will kind of shake like trembles) when she is over stimulated. She also hates being dressed after a shower. I am wondering what questions I should be asking the therapist and what is the usual course of treatment, what kind of techniques are used in OT?
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. She has her appointment on Monday and … -
Starting Therapy
My 3 year old daughter was recently evaluated and therapy twice a week has been recommended due to problems with articulation. The problem is, we have been on a waiting list to begin the therapy and when I called today to check our status I was told it could be months before their is an opening. Is this normal? Does it normally take so long to begin therapy? I have contacted 3 different places and they all put me on a waiting list. I know early intervention is key and that is why I want to begin asap. Any suggestions for how I might be able to speed the process up??
Great advice! I’m going to look into this! -

20 months and only a few words
My 20 month old boy only says a few words. I’m not too worried about it because my 4 year old was a late talker as well. What concerns me is several of the words he says aren’t fully formed. Book is boo, help is el, more is mo, etc. Anyone else have this issue or can help me to get him to say the full word?
Thanks, I will! -

What do you think about the claims in this article that “educational” apps for babies aren’t so educational after all? http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/08/07/apps-for-babies_n_3721886.html Do you use baby apps with your little one?
