7 weeks PP

7 weeks PP

I’ll be 7 weeks PP tomorrow. This is my 2nd child and this pregnancy was tougher than my first. It made my anxiety attacks more known and it took a toll on my body. Labor was alot quicker tho. I guess i just have concerns or just to see others experiences. I am still sore in the inside while being intimate with my bf. Is this normal? 3 weeks pp i went to the hospital die to seeing something hanging out down there. I apparently had some type of after birth caught in my cervix so they pulled it out. But everything seemed fine as i didn’t get an an infection. My doc didn’t check me at my 4 week pp appt which i thought they do but i guess not. When do our hormones stay to level out? I’ve had some weird anxiety attacks and i also experience a lot of sweating moments when I’m just sitting here. I know it has to be my hormones trying to very back to normal. Guess i would just like to know how others are around this time.
Thank you

  1. I don’t know how to edit my post.
But i put die instead of due.
Also is anyone experiencing bad back pain? I didnt have any issues after my first but my back- mid back and lower hurt so bad. Not sure if its from epidural or just holding baby.

  2. Hi Kathleen! Congrats on giving birth and thanks for reaching out to us! Regarding being sore at 7 weeks while being intimate: yes! Totally normal. Your estrogen levels are quite low if you are nursing, so that can lead to vaginal dryness which may contribute to some soreness. Also, many women feel sore or just different in the beginning after having a baby. In regards to hormone levels leveling out, you are still definitely very early on and fluctuations are still normal, especially if you are nursing. The sweating is very common – some women have it randomly, others with nursing, and others only at night, but it usually does get better, though it could be a part of your anxiety. Have you spoken to your doctor about your anxiety? Some women actually experience postpartum depression not with depression but with anxiety, so I would want to make sure you are screened for that. Lastly about the back pain, many moms think it is the epidural but more likely it’s from constantly carrying a baby, bending over, nursing and hunching over, etc – but if you are worried, have your doc check it out. Good luck and keep us posted!

    1. Thank You very much for the reply. I am breastfeeding, well pumping and feeding baby by bottle. The sweating i get off and on throughout the day. Good to know where i am. It’s just so different between pregnancy but then again i wasn’t successful with breastfeeding my first born. I have been dealing with GAD & Panic disorder since i was 17. I was on klonopin before getting pregnant and only took when i truly needed them. Then my obgyn put me on vistaril while pregnant. The vistaril juat makes me very tired and i don’t take that unless i really have to due to that. I have had to take it 3 times since baby has been born. They have just been very strong and different. I go to my regular doc on the 20th so i will bring that up and palpitations i get when lying down. I experienced the palpitations while pregnant so i thought it was due to that but i still get them. Yea i can see the back pain being from all those things. My baby is very fussy with gas and just being uncomfy so sheer is in my arms alot.

      1. I am glad you have a check up on the 20th, but certainly don’t be afraid to call sooner if any issues are stressing you out, especially the anxiety. Sounds like you are doing a great job mama!

  3. Hi Kathleen! Congrats on your new little one! I know how hard things can be in those first few months. Like Dr. Jen, I’d like to encourage you to talk to your doctor about the anxiety, which can be so much worse with all those post-pregnancy hormones still around. Glad to hear you have an appointment coming up. The best gift you can give to your little one right now is to stay healthy and take good care of yourself. Best of luck and be sure to reach out again if you have any questions!

    1. Thank you very much! Yea all day today i have been very dizzy and feeling off balance. I thought maybe it is my allergies due to the weather but my bf recently googled asking about other women and being PP and it seemed that others struggled with this as well. I was close to going to the ER due to being so dizzy and having my head feeling a little funny. I was even thinking my anxiety may be playing a part in it. Itbjust had me really worried and my bf until he saw how many other women were experiencing it. The sweating was happening a good bit this evening/night as well.
