Are baby bumps at the gym really a faux pas?

A pregnant woman was kicked out of Planet Fitness when the bottom of her baby bump was showing in her workout gear. (See the pic: http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/pregnant-at-the-gym) Do you think her stomach showing was that big of a deal? I know that I worked out during my pregnancy, and spending money on maternity gym clothes that always fit perfectly wasn’t a priority for me.

  1. Poor woman! I feel so bad for her! And I totally disagree and think Planet Fitness was wrong in kicking her out. I actually think she looks cute in her workout clothes (way better than I looked). Shame on Planet Fitness for their actions!

    1. I thought she looked great, too! And even if she didn’t… I get that they have a no-midriff policy but some rules need to be broken for well-meaning pregnant ladies. 🙂

  2. This is ridiculous! I see ladies wearing sports bras half of the time with nothing over them at the gym and it doesn’t offend me. I have never heard of a gym having a dress code and I don’t think I would be a part of one that did! I don’t see how showing a little bit of her belly could be any more offensive than somebody wearing tight workout pants and tops?!!

  3. Oy vey! Planet Fitness is a bit overboard in general (kicking people out because they grunt?!), and this just solidifies it in my mind! We have an obesity epidemic and if anything we need MORE pregnant women exercising, tank top or not!!
