Article: C-section increases overweight/obesity in kids by 48%!!

In a new study, kids born via C-section were at a much higher risk of being overweight (26%) or obese (22%) later on in life. Those are some scary statistics!! However, my first reservation with this study is that women who are obese are at much higher risk for C-section, so what caused the obesity in the child? The fact that they have a mother who is obese, or the fact that they arrived in the world by C-section? Yet another example of correlation might not possibly equal caustion. Of course, this is interesting, but more work needs to be done before we can say those numbers are absolute…
