Bath Time!

Hey guys! I was wondering if anyone had any advice on cleaning bath time toys and storage. I have a net that captures all of the toys and lets them air dry, but I feel like I should do more to keep them clean. However, I am afraid regular cleaning products can be too harsh! Any thoughts are much appreciated.

  1. We soak them all in a very mild bleach solution in the sink every few weeks (just a half capful or less in a full sink is plenty) and then rinse them very well before putting them back in the bathtub. The toys only need to soak in the bleach solution for a couple of minutes and then they’re ready to go. Bleach sounds harsh but it’s one of the only definite ways to kill mold and mold spores which are common contaminants in bath toys. (My husband is a microbiologist so we’re cool with bleach for certain things-he says that mold is one of them 🙂 I’m sure you could also use vinegar but you’d have to use a lot more of it at a time.
