Do you Bento?
I’ve been following the #bentoaday hashtag on IG and it has definitely gotten me motivated to start having more fun with my sons’ lunches. I’m hoping this helps with his picky-ness by giving him a fun, healthy lunch instead of the usual sammie and snacks.
My son’s montessori actually provides a Bento box for his lunchbox to encourage healthy eating. They suggest a protein, whole grain, fruit and veggie in each of the 4 boxes. While it is still tempting to put in the occasional “snack” or “junk”, it is a good reminder every evening when I am packing the lunch to focus on being healthy and creative.
That’s great! And it helps to know that his friends are eating the same way, so there’s no peer pressure for him that they’re eating Oreos and he’s eating healthy.
Wow, that’s so awesome of his school!
