If you’re vegetarian/vegan, do you raise your kids to be?

I am mostly vegan (fish sometimes and can’t fully quit cheese), but don’t prohibit my child from eating meat and dairy. Naturally, she doesn’t get much of it at home, but c’mon, what’s a childhood without Mac’n’cheese or hotdogs every now and then? At least we try to stick with the “healthier” brands and only kosher dogs! I feel we provide her with a variety of foods (she’s 4 and doesn’t know what fast food is) but feel she will grow up with our lifestyle and eventually find her own path. How do the rest of y’all herbivores feel?

  1. Well I’m definitely a meat and potatoes kind of guy so I personally think you should keep meat in her meals. Not that there is anything wrong with being vegan or vegetarian but like you said your self what would life be without hot dogs and the most important reason is to let her make her own choices when she is older. I would just hate to see her not eat meat just because you guys dont. Your best bet is probably to offer meat on a regular basis and not even try to give an explanation for why you don’t eat meat. But like I said I’m a meat and potatoes for every meal kind of guy so maybe I should just butt out!!!!!!
