Not really a sleep issue…

Sorry that this question doesn’t really fit the group topic 100%, but it is a sleep-related question. 🙂
When did you start letting your baby sleep with a blanket in the crib? My son has had a blanket in his crib since he was maybe 8-9 months old, but it’s a crocheted blanket and is full of holes, so I felt safe letting him sleep with it. Last night, my son woke up with a wet diaper. When I was changing him, I noticed that his toes were so cold! He sleeps in footed PJs, so I didn’t know what else to do other than to give him a real blanket. I was so nervous, even though he’s just over 15 months old, but he slept fine, so I guess I’ll continue to let him have the blanket.

  1. I want to say 18 months old, but I can’t remember!

  2. I think 15-18 months is fine for a small light blanket but most toddlers are very active sleepers so if you are using it for warmth it won’t stay on him for long. How about socks under his PJ’s or a sleep sac with a zipper over them?

    1. I think the socks inside the PJs might be the solution. My best friend also suggested doing that. I’m worried that a sleep sack would make him angry in the middle of the night because he wouldn’t be able to stand up or move around the crib correctly.
