Preschoolers and CrossFit? It's a thing.

There’s working out, and then there’s CrossFit for preschoolers: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/02/sports/crossfit-tailors-workout-for-a-new-demographic-preschoolers.html?smid=tw-nytimes&_r=0
Would you sign up your child for CrossFit?

  1. My first reaction was that that’s insane, but after reading the article it seems like they are keeping it pretty fun and play-based, which probably isn’t much different from places like Gymboree. And with the current obesity and screen time epidemics, it’s probably a good thing that the kids are being active and having fun. I like that they are teaching about nutrition too.

  2. Honestly – I’d rather them play a sport like soccer tots. They learn to share, work as a team, etc. I mean at this young age let’s get them out in the fresh air! But it does sound like a good program and thankfull no dead lifts, squats or pull ups!

  3. I have friends who have their kids (5 & 7) in CrossFit classes. They love it, and they do their own classes at the same time.
