So male vasectomies are much more effective than women having tubes tied… Am I reading that right?

The difference in failure rate is pretty small – 0.015 vs 0.5% – but Dr. Sara is right that vasectomies are great for birth control! They are a quick office procedure and cost less, take less time, and have less risks associated with them than a woman getting her tubes tied. They are a very smart choice!
