School Projects

My daughter has a vocabulary parade this week, where she had to make a costume based on a compound word (pretty ambitious for preschool but it’s part of a big school!). We chose “cupcake” so I made her a slice of cake out of foam board and felt (pink with sprinkles at her request) and she is wearing a headband with a teacup on her head. Cup-cake. It was fun to make (after a long day of work, dinner, night routine…) but only because I love getting crafty. I wondered if most parents dread these big projects? This is only the beginning for me.

  1. My son is only 2, so I haven’t gotten to school projects yet… But I can’t wait! I LOVE doing things like this. The cup-cake costume sounds adorable!! I had a blast making my son’s halloween costume. I is a robot made out of cardboard boxes. My problem is that I am too ambitious with these things. I end up staying up all night to finish my projects on time:)

    1. Well… I didn’t go to bed til midnight last night and still have to do sprinkles on it today. Wanted to make sure she gets to help make it, so this was the perfect way for her creative input. 🙂

  2. I’m not a preschooler mom but a big part of me does not look forward to crafty things mainly because I don’t think I am crafty at all!
