You could, but it’s not recommended (and many hospitals won’t allow it). Scheduled deliveries should only occur for medical reasons.
While it might be fun to have your baby arrive on your best friend’s birthday or on a day with special meaning to you (or to avoid a certain date), this is not a practice that is recommended. The main reason is that labor should be allowed to start on its own. Inducing labor puts you at an increased risk of needing a C-section, which is why it should only be done for medical indications. And both scheduled inductions and C-sections should only be done after your baby is 39 weeks along, since we know going full term has so many benefits for baby. Trying to schedule a delivery before that so your baby has a certain birthday should, therefore, be avoided. For these reasons, most doctors and hospitals have a policy that won’t allow this practice.
