For most children, cooked fish can be introduced around one year of age.
Fish is one of the top eight food allergens, so if you have a close family relative with a fish allergy, speak with your doctor or allergist before including it in your child’s diet. Otherwise, at a year, you can try tuna fish salad, cooked salmon, codfish, or other thoroughly cooked fish. Stay away from raw fish, such as sushi, because young children do not have a fully developed immune system until they are 5-6 years old.

My pediatrician highly recommended that I give my little one salmon. I gave it to her around 11 months for the first time and it was a hit. We eat a lot of fish in our house, so I’m so happy that she can now enjoy it with us. 🙂
