Any new parent knows intuitively that babies calm when they are sung to. However, researchers have now proven that singing to infants has a benefit for both mom AND the baby.
A new study of premature babies in the NICU found that infants who were held skin-to-skin and sung to by their mothers had a decrease in heart rate. These mothers also had a significant decrease in their anxiety level when singing. So even if you cannot carry a tune, don’t be shy—your baby will be soothed by your voice. After all, they have been listening to it for 9 months from the womb!

That’s great we love playing music and singing in our home.
I love singing to my little guy. It’s so off tune, and he is probably the only one who enjoys it! 🙂
I’m sure he doesn’t even care how it sounds! 🙂
