Hemp milk is a plant-based milk made from hemp seeds that are soaked and then ground into water.
For children who are allergic to cow’s milk and/or soy milk or are following a vegetarian diet, hemp milk may be a good alternative. Fortified hemp milk contains added nutrients, such as calcium. Hemp milk contains about half the amount of protein as cow’s milk per cup. One disadvantage to hemp milk may be the added sugar, which is included in flavored versions of hemp milk.
Discuss with your doctor whether hemp milk is appropriate for your child.
