Baby development: Your 10 month old

Playing nice

“Playing” at this age may look different than it does for older children, but your baby is still learning.

Babies begin socializing as soon as they are born — they start out engaging with those around them to get their needs met, and they eventually learn to interact for enjoyment. When children are young, these interactions may seem simple or non-existent, but all the while, they are learning. In these early stages, be sure to keep play with others safe, age-appropriate, gentle, and friendly.
