Baby development: Your 6 month old

Gibberish is a good thing

Encourage your baby’s gibberish because it is an essential part of speech and language development.

You may start hearing your baby babble, saying things like “Gameme baaaa” (or something like it). But does all of that gibberish really matter? The short answer: yes! Babbling is an important step as your baby develops his or her speech and language skills. Additionally, you may hear your little one piping up in delight or dismay, using his or her voice to express emotions around this time.
